An Aylesbeare woman has been recognised in the Queen's Birthday honours, along with an Exeter University professor.
Mrs Ruth Airdrie founded a charity, Rainbow Living, which provides special supported accommodation for young adults with learning disabilities in Exeter and Torquay.
In the past 10 years she's raised around 200 thousand pounds and enabled many young people to live more independent lives.
She's received an MBE.
Also honoured is a world-leading diabetes expert from Exeter University - Andrew Hattersley, who's also a consultant at the RD&E hospital, has received a CBE.
