Around 280 of Exeter University's lowest paid staff are to get a pay rise... as the University introduces the Living Wage.
It will see their wages go up to seven pounds 45 pence per hour, a figure calculated to meet the basic costs of necessities such as accommodation, food and clothing.
The university says it's been planning the move for some time, as one of Exeter's biggest employers - another, the city counci, introduced the living wage earlier this year.
