Police are looking for the driver of a van which was deliberately reversed into a marked police vehicle near Okehampton last night.
The officers had stopped the white Vauxhall Astra van on the A386, when it reversed at speed into their car, damaging it and injuring them.
The van was then driven away with a broken rear window and possibly its rear numberplate missing - it was later seen in the Northlew area.
Police would like to speak to any witnesses, especially the occupants of a blue Peugeot which drove past, who may have caught the incident on camera.
