The wild beavers on the River Otter will be allowed to stay there.
Natural England has given the Devon Wildlife Trust the go-ahead to test them for disease, re-release them, and monitor the population for five years.
There had been concerns that they'd be taken into captivity by DEFRA.
But there was huge public support locally for the beavers to stay - and backing from Friends of the Earth.
