A report out today warns that wildlife is in decline - and that several important habitats in Devon are being lost.
The national State of Nature report revealed that 60 per cent of the species studied had declined in recent decades.
And many of the grasslands, heaths and hedgerows which support threatened species are found in Devon.
The Devon Wildlife Trust's Conservation Advocacy Manager, Peter Burgess, is speaking at the launch this evening.
He says changing agricultural and land management practices are destroying wildlife habitats, but people can help by creating 'wild' areas in their gardens to attract insects.
