Operation Scorpion, a multi-force crackdown on cannabis factories, has seen police seize nearly 1,200 plants with a street value of more than £675,000 in Devon and Cornwall.

Guy Henderson speaks to police and crime commissioner Alison Hernandez about how to spot a cannabis factory and why local people can help put a stop to the misery caused by illegal drugs.

Meanwhile, after Devon’s newest train station was opened by the transport secretary, Ollie Heptinstall chats to the county council’s transport chief about their hopes for Marsh Barton.

Regular services are now calling at the £16 million station, which serves the city’s largest trading estate, and a new cycle and pedestrian bridge has also been built.

Plus, we round up the political reaction from Torbay after the council spent £20,000 of taxpayers’ money on a festival that never happened, and find out why it could be the final chapter for Devon’s mobile library service.
