Local residents urged to join campaign against low pay

Community groups, faith organisations, politicians and unions in Exeter are being urged to join a campaign for higher wages in the area.

The TUC is organising a seminar in Exeter this Saturday, bringing together local people concerned about the low-pay culture and activists who can help them start local movements calling for change.
They want more local authorities to follow Exeter city council's example and pay all staff a living wage - and they also want to put pressure on big companies who maximise profits by employing low-paid workers.
The seminar takes place this Saturday from 10.30 till 3 at the St David's Hill community centre.
