Proposals to improve flood protection on Exeter's railway line welcomed.

Network Rail plans to spend 14 million pounds on measures to reduce the water level in the River Exe at Cowley and Stafford Bridges.

The work will take three years to complete and although Tim Jones, chairman of the Devon and Cornwall business council, welcomes the plans he also says something should have been done years ago.
