Fewer children being arrested in Devon

Devon and Cornwall police are being praised for dramatically reducing the number of children being arrested.


In 2010, more than four thousand under-17s were detained - in 2016 there were just 994.

The Howard League for Penal Reform has been working with police forces to reduce child arrests, as they're more likely to commit further offences once they've been involved in the criminal justice system.
