A purr-fect way to raise money

Council worker Charlie Gill is planning a fundraising adventure by jumping out of an aircraft at 15,000ft.

The mum-of-four from Ellacombe, Torquay, who works for Torbay Council, is taking part in the skydive to raise money for the Torbay-based cat welfare charity Feline Network.

Charlie has adopted two cats from the charity, and Teddy and Mowgali are now much-loved members of her family.

She said: “Whilst our fur babies weren’t ill-treated or abused, they were abandoned and could have ended up as strays with long term health problems or worse.

“Fortunately this charity found them and was able to neuter them and give them the opportunity to be rehomed.”

Feline Network has a charity shop in Torquay Road, Paignton, which reopened on Monday, April 19, after the easing of coronavirus restrictions.

The skydive is planned for August 26, from Dunkeswell airfield near Honiton.

Charlie has set up an online fundraising page on GoFundMe.
