Local classic vehicle fans will be treated to the sight of nearly 1,500 vehicles on display next month when the Historic Vehicle Gathering returns to Powderham Castle in Kenton, near Exeter, on 13th and 14th July.

The Crash Box & Classic Car Club of Devon are the organisers of this annual event which attracts a variety of vehicles ranging from two wheels to ten, and helps to raise funds for local charities.

Supporting the event are over sixty vehicle clubs, around 300 individual car entries and 40 full-size and miniature steamers, as well as a healthy number of entries for motorcycles, commercial vehicles, tractors, trade stands and autojumble.

A new attraction confirmed for this year’s event is a special ‘World War 2 80th Anniversary – The vehicles, equipment and people that made the difference’ display, to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day. This is in addition to roaming music bands, a light-hearted dog show on the Saturday, refreshments, trade stands and children’s entertainment.

This annual event also raises funds for various local charities. This year’s chosen local charities are the Royal Devon Hospitals Charity, Veterans with Dogs (Exeter) and Teignmouth Shopmobility.

The Historic Vehicle Gathering runs from 10am until 4:30PM on both days. For further information, visit
