Experience the power of imagination at Music and Pictures—a concert where every note paints a scene, and every melody tells a story. This unique musical journey invites you to close your eyes and let the music guide your mind’s eye, as each piece conjures vivid landscapes, emotions, and moments. It’s not about what you see—it’s about what you feel, what you imagine, and the pictures the music creates within you. Come and discover how sound alone can be the most powerful storyteller of all.
The Jopes Chamber Orchestra brings together some of the finest musicians from across the Westcountry under the direction of their conductor, Nick Beach. As well as being thrilled by the quality of the playing, audiences enjoy the informal atmosphere where everyone is welcome. Nick introduces all our concerts, sharing interesting snippets of information about the composers and their music.
Programme for the performance: Handel: Water Music selections, Bach: Orchestral selections (including the famous “Air”), Morricone: Gabriel’s Oboe, Williams: Theme from Schindler’s List, Hamilton: Cry me a River, Stravinsky: Dumbarton Oaks, Rameau: Selections from Les Indes Galantes, Mozart : Symphony No 29.
