The golden age of film is getting a makeover as the multi-award winning silent movie The Artist is being adapted for the stage and will début in Plymouth.

The story is set in 1920s Hollywood and follows George Valentin and Peppy Miller as their careers shift with the Talkies revolution, highlighting themes of finding one's voice and resistance to change.

In a love story that faces challenges, audiences witness career clashes and near tragedy.

George discovers his voice, showcasing love, loyalty, and humility in a tribute to silent cinema with innovative theatre and period music.

The show begins in the physical world of the silent movie era and gradually moves into a musical with costumes and sets evolving through the periods.

This stars Gary Wilmot, Robbie Fairchild and upcoming Briana Craig and runs until 25 May.

TRP has co-produced the show with The Mconie Company.
