Exeter Chiefs face Glasgow in the European Cup tomorrow
Exeter Chiefs and England winger Jack Nowell has been named in Rob Baxter's starting 15 for the first time this season. The Cornishmen, who came off the bench against La Rochelle last weekend, was sidelined for much of the 2019 World Cup due to injury. However, he's back in the firing line for Exeter this weekend as the Chiefs make to look it back-to-back wins in Europe.
Chiefs summer signing Stuart Hogg also starts against his former club - and Baxter says it's a big game for the Scottish International: “It’s an important game for Stuart," said Baxter.
"He’s settled in very well for us and you can see already what he brings to the team. When you get someone like him running with the ball, it not only creates chances for himself, but it also opens up space for others.
“Already guys like Tom {O’Flaherty] are really starting to shine because he’s creating space and openings for him to exploit. It’s the same in the pack, if you have two or three big ball-carriers, then teams can’t just double up on that one ball-carrier you have. You saw that last week, guys like Dave, Jacques and Sam, they were all make big carries and creating space for one another.”
