Former site rejected because it is too visible
Alphington's £6 million pound park and ride scheme is likely to be built on the Ide side of the A30. Devon County Council has applied for planning permission this week.
It's a change from previous plans - which would have seen fields owned by a riding school concreted over - and would have been visible from a number of directions. Many people who responded to the consultation didn't like that idea.
The Ide site is more discrete - and parish councillors get some of the traffic improvements they've been asking for. Jamie Hulland is from transportation planning at Devon County Council.
