£15K of cannabis seized
A huge haul of cash, cannabis and suspected illegal cigarettes has been seized from a house in North Devon.
Police raided a property in Braunton on Tuesday 31 of March where they found 1.5 kilograms of cannabis, £15,000 in cash and a large quantity of counterfeit cigarettes.
Detective Sergeant Sam Jones led the investigation and said, “Preventing a significant quantity of drugs from reaching the streets in North Devon has been a really positive result.
“Counterfeit tobacco products also pose health risks to the public, as well as undermine legitimate businesses and are often linked to wider criminal activity. I'm very pleased we've removed this risk to the public.”
Officers from Barnstable's neighbourhood policing team worked with the South West Regional Organised Crime Unit as part of the warrant.
