Police need dash cam footage
Police are asking for anyone who may have seen a crash near Barnstaple around dawn on Tuesday morning, to help their enquiries into the collision.
A local man is in a life-threatening condition at Derriford Hospital after leaving the B3233 at Yelland, near Barnstaple and colliding with a lamp post and wall, at around 4.25 am.
He's a 55-year-old from the Barnstaple area and was driving a black Vauxhall Astra. He was initially taken to Barnstaple Hospital before being transferred to Derriford.
Local police initially attended the scene and, once the severity of injury was established, officers from the Roads Policing Team completed the investigation.
