Police received a call from a walker just before 8pm last night (Tuesday 26th June)
Someone walking on the Tarka Trail spotted the body of the man near Fremington Quay in Barnstaple.
A cordon was put in place whilst scenes of crime officers and paramedics attended.
The death is not currently being treated as suspicious.
