Cyclist in serious condition following hit and run

Bovey Tracey road closed for several hours

A woman in her 40s has been arrested on suspicion of of causing serious injury by careless driving, after a cyclist was seriously injured in an alleged hit and run in Bovey Tracey. 

Police were called at around 1.20pm to Old Orchard at the junction with Le Molay-Littry Way, Bovey Tracey.

It was reported that a collision involved a grey Dacia Duster and a pedal cycle. The cyclist sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital.

The driver of the car left the scene prior to police arrival and was later located.

A woman in her 40s has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Devon and Cornwall Police released a statement:

"Officers from the Roads Policing Team would like to thank the public for their patience while they investigated the scene. 

"We are appealing for any witnesses and anyone with information, including relevant dashcam footage, to report via our website or by calling 101 quoting reference 50260056087."
