Crime victims in Devon and Cornwall will soon be signposted to reputable businesses for work such as repairing damage or improving security.
From April, the Police and Crime Commissioner's Office will take over responsiblity for all aspects of victim support.
Victims will still get free counselling and help going through the court system - but they'll also be given a list of companies who already belong to the Trading Standards Buy with Confidence scheme and who've put themselves forward for this initiative.
