Yellow and blue 'space cannons'
Exeter Cathedral has lit the sky around it in yellow and blue in support of the people of Ukraine.
High-powered blue and yellow searchlights beamed from the cathedral’s west front on Saturday night to raise funds for the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.
The ‘space canon’ searchlights, which can be visible for up to 20 miles, were set up free of charge by Exeter-based sound and lighting production company Stage Engage.
The company’s owner, Chris Ablett said: “We wanted a high-profile location to help raise as much money as possible for the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal, and Exeter Cathedral have kindly allowed us to use the Cathedral Green and supplied all the power required.”
