Its engine failed off Budleigh Salterton
A motor boat in distress has been rescued off Budleigh Salterton, along with the people on board, including children.
The coastguard called Exmouth's RNLI around 8 p.m. on Sunday following to the 22 foot bowrider that had suffered engine failure about half a mile out to sea.
When the RNLI crew reached the boat in Exmouth's all-weather lifeboat about half an hour later, the crew had to make contact with it by mobile phone because its VHF radio wasn't working.
The vessel was unable to make progress so it was towed back to Exmouth Marina.
