City's historic buildings provide a feelgood factor

Exeter's museums, cathedral and other historic buildings give residents a sense of pride and contribute to the 'feelgood factor', according to a study released today.

It was commissioned by the Heritage Lottery Fund and found that people living in Exeter valued the buildings and thought they were good for the visitor trade.
The Lottery invests a lot of money in protecting historic buildings and wanted to find out what benefits they brought to residents - it surveyed people living in 12 towns and cities.
