It's the second known school in Devon
Colyton Grammar School has been named in the government's latest list of those affected by RAAC concrete.
As of 30 August, 147 were affected and included Petroc's campuses in Barnstaple. The latest list as of 14 September shows an additional 27 schools have been affected.
RAAC is a material that was mostly used in flat roofing between the 1950s and 1990s, but was also used in floors and walls. It's seen as a cheaper alternative to normal concrete but only has a lifespan of around 30 years.
In a statement, a spokesperson for Colyton Grammar School said: “We can confirm the existence of RAAC in a small part of our estate, and the affected areas are now closed.
"We are working with the DfE and related experts to mitigate the issue and to minimise the impact on students' learning."
