A report going to the Cabinet today recommends that they don't pursue the option of staying at Knowle in Sidmouth, because the high running costs and the need for expensive repairs are a waste of taxpayers' money.

The other options, to be decided at a later date, include the original plan of moving to Honiton, but also the possibility of a move to Cranbrook.

A district-wide stakeholder group will be set up to discuss the relocation process and the way customer contact and services will be provided in future.

Councillors are also being asked to confirm the plan to hand over the public space at Knowle Park to the town council as part of any relocation plan.
