Cops crackdown on anti-social boozers
Boozers and drug users at pubs in Dartmouth have been subjected to a police crackdown - and Devon and Cornwall's police and crime commissioner turned up to watch the action.
Alison Hernandez was joined by people from South Hams council's licensing department.
Police say such targeted operations "have a positive impact on neighbourhoods and the communities around them" and supports pub owners and workers.
They searched 10 people at seven venues and arrested two for drugs possession offences before releasing them on bail.
Sergeant Neil Powers, from the police's Dartmouth neighbourhood team said: “Our communities put their trust in us to support them, prevent and detect crime and keep the places they live safe whilst tackling anti-social behaviour.
“This operation is part of a wider piece of work we are doing in order to provide reassurance to the residents of Dartmouth and the neighbouring villages that we will act on the information they provide to us and will work with them.”
