Boy has serious injuries
A boy has suffered life-changing injuries after swerving on his bike to avoid a car.
The 11-year-old was cycling along Rockey Lane/Harper's Hill in Northlew, near Okehampton on the last Sunday in February.
He was by a bridge over the River Lew when he had to take evasive action to avoid a blue car on the bridge.
He collided with a hedge and ended up in the river. His injuries are described as serious.
Although it is now more than two weeks on, police are asking for witnesses to the incident at around 4.20pm on Sunday 27 February.
The car did not stop at the scene.
Officers from the Roads Policing Unit attended the scene and started an investigation to establish the cause of the collision.
