Woman found dead in Torquay; man in Hampshire
Detectives are investigating the deaths of a woman in Torquay and a man in Hampshire.
Emergency services were called just before 4pm on Saturday 31 January after concerns were raised for a woman in her seventies at an address in Shirburn Road, Torquay.
She was found dead and the incident is being treated as unexplained.
Hampshire Police attended a property in Hythe, Hampshire where they found the body of a man in his forties. His death is not believed to be suspicious.
Scene guards remain in place at both addresses.
The man and the woman are believed known to each other. Next-of-kin have been informed and are being supported by police.
Detective Chief Inspector Dave Pebworth said: “This is a very sad incident and we are supporting the next-of-kin of those who have died. We continue to work with our colleagues from Hampshire Police as we investigate this matter.
“Officers are carrying out enquiries to establish exactly what has happened and cordons are in place to allow for a thorough investigation of both addresses.
“There will be an increased police presence in the area and we encourage anyone to speak with officers if they have any concerns.”
Anyone with information can contact police online or by telephone on 101, quoting log number 558 of 31 January.
