Dog walker robbed in Plymouth

Woman attacked in early hours

A woman has been robbed after being attacked from behind as she walked her dog in the early hours of Monday morning in Plymouth.

She was grabbed by a man at around 1 a.m. on Monday at Tamar Wharf in the city.

The robber took her phone and jewellery before running away.

Detective Sergeant Ben Ferguson said: “The victim was shaken up by this assault, but thankfully not seriously hurt. We are appealing for witnesses and would like to hear from anyone who was in the area of the Torpoint Ferry between the hours of midnight and 2 a.m. on Monday 12 June, and noticed anything untoward.”

DS Ferguson added: “We would also like to hear from anyone with CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage of the area during that time that could assist the investigation.

“We ask that residents are extra vigilant and there will be increased patrols in the area; we are doing all we can to identify and detain the man responsible.”

Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 101.

Information can be passed to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 or online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
