Dogs will now have to be kept on leads at Stover Country Park in Newton Abbot after a duck was killed in an attack.
Devon County Council has put up new temporary signs saying owners must keep their pets on a lead at all times around the lake and watercourses.
A spokesman said signs had always asked dog owners to keep their animals "under close control" in the park but the wording has now been changed to make it clearer following the attack.
