Incident closed M5 for eight hours
A man has died after his car was in a collision with a heavy goods vehicle on the M5.
The incident, near Tiverton on Monday night involve a silver Saab 93 and a Scania HGV on the Exeter-bound carriageway around one mile south of junction 27, the turn for the North Devon Link Road.
The driver of the Saab was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers from the roads policing team, firearms and dog sections attended, along with paramedics.
The southbound carriageway was closed for nearly eight hours.
Police are working to establish the cause of the collision and appealing for any witnesses to contact them via 101@dc.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting log 0975 of 9 August.
