It's reported that Exeter City Council will allocate millions of pounds for new flood defences in a bid to end the threat facing Exeter
Council leader Pete Edwards says the recent high levels of the River Exe had been a wake-up call – and that the city council would find £3m of the £25m needed for improved flood defences.
The authority expects Devon County Council to put in a further £3m – and is looking to the private sector to raise another £6m.
