Exeter City windfall as Grimes sold

Midfielder Matt Grimes heads to Swansea in deal rumoured to be worth £1.75 million to the club, and £100k a week to the 19-year-old

Whilst neither ECFC nor Swansea are revealing the numbers behind the teenage star's move, the Grecians have finalised the biggest value transfer out of St James Park that brightens the financial future after a difficult year.

Training facilities, youth development and the first team squad are set for a cash injection, after loans are repaid.

Matt Grimes worked his way through the youth ranks at Exeter from the age of 10, making the first team 18 months ago and quickly becoming a fans' favourite. The Exeter born-and-bred 19-year-old leaves with the club's best wishes.
