The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for snow and ice in the South West. Parts of Devon have already been severely effected today, It's due to get heavier later this afternoon and overnight.
Alex Burkill, from Exeter Met Office, said:
"As we go through Thursday and into Friday, we have got Storm Emma approaching from the South. That will bring some heavy, significant snow as well as freezing rain which will cause dangerous driving conditions.
"As well as the heavy snow and freezing rain, we've also got some very strong winds coming due to Storm Emma. We could see blizzard like conditions.
"Around the Exeter area, we could see up to 20 cm of snow falling as we go through Thursday. A lot of school will remain closed. On the moors and hills, we have the possibility of up to 50cm on snow."
