Exeter drug dealing gang sent to prison

Five members of an Exeter drug gang including a former Topsham pub landlord have been jailed for a total of 18 years. It follows an undercover policing operation by the regional unit tackling organised crime.

55 year old  Gary Turley who used to run the Drake pub in Topsham Fore Street is to serve 30 months for his part in a conspiracy to supply amphetamines across the south west.

The drugs were brought in from Liverpool and Slough and then mixed and distributed locally.

Exeter crown court had heard how three of the other men were caught mixing 150 thousand pounds worth of drugs during a raid in Briar Crescent, Exeter - and that this was just one of many consignments dealt on to the streets.

All five were convicted of conspiracy to supply drugs, and a sixth will be sentenced at a later date.
