But Exonians do like a tipple!

Raise your glasses! A toast! Exeter is the UK's fourth healthiest city.

Only Chichester, Cambridge and Oxford top Devon's capital city in a healthy lifestyle league table compiled by Babylon Health. They've looked at diet, smoking and exercise to come up with scores for places across the UK. Coughing and wheezing 15 places behind Exeter is Plymouth.

Exeter's the number one place for resistance training each week (people pick up weights 1.6 times a week on average) - and is pretty good on other forms of exercise too. And hats off to greengrocers. No other city beats Exeter when it comes to getting through a plate of veg or bowl of fruit.

But here's the devil in this particular statistical detail. Just over a quarter (28 per cent) of Exeter residents smoke, and Exeter's the leading city in the top 10 for drinking. The average person in Exeter knocks back 6.4 units of booze a week, which on average they consume on just two occasions. That's about a large glass of tine, twice a week. Cheers to that. Only one city in the least healthiest places outdo people in Exeter for drinking. You have to go all the way to Newcastle to meet boozier city people.

Here's the top 10, compiled by Babylon Health. More detail is at www.babylonhealth.com/c/healthiest-habits
