Laurence Billiam, 92, charged with murder
A 92-year-old Exeter man, accused of killing his 87-year-old wife will appear before Exeter Crown Court today [Wednesday 29 April].
Devon and Cornwall Police were called to Millbrook Lane in Exeter, on Sunday 19 April following welfare concerns.
Shirley Billam was found dead at the flat.
Laurence Billam, of Millbrook Lane, is charged with murder and appeared at Exeter Magistrates' Court via video link from his hospital bed on Tuesday. No plea was entered and he is set to appear before Crown Court later.
The court heard Laurence Billam, 92, allegedly smothered his wife before attempting to take his own life.
