Exeter University study questions lifting advice

A study involving Exeter University is questioning the traditional guidance given on lifting heavy objects.

For years, health and safety experts have urged people to bend their knees and keep their backs straight to avoid strain.

But after studying a group of volunteers of all ages, the team concluded that people's spines work in different ways and the advice should be better tailored to individuals.
