Fluminense 0 Exeter City 0

All that way for goalless draw!

A hundred years on from Exeter City's historic match with Brazil, a commemorative match at Fluminense has resulted in a goalless draw.

Two City goals were declared offside. Coach Paul Tisdale, who brought himself on for the final part of the match, says the trip to South America has provided valuable experience for his young squad.

Back at St James Park, fans who couldn't make it to Brazil, enjoyed a special day of entertainment at the club, with regular score updates provided by Tweets from the match.

Director of Football Steve Perryman told supporters he would have brought himself on too had he been in Brazil. His greatest concern is for the players' fitness: just two weeks' ahead of the English season kick-off, he told Radio Exe that getting everyone through pre-season with injury is paramount, especially now the club has an embargo on transfers.
