Firearms and cash seized too
Four men have appeared in front of Exeter magistrates charged with Class A drugs offences following a police operation in Ide, near Exeter, on Monday. It's understood they raided a house owned by the Church of England and leased to tenants. As well as controlled drugs, firearms and cash was also seized in a raid that involved specially trained police dogs.
Lester Purdy, 66, of Station Road, Ide, has been charged with possession of crack cocaine, conspiring to supply cocaine and possession of criminal property. He is also charged with possession of MDMA and cocaine, both class A drugs, and cannabis/cannabis, which is class B.
Jake Purdy, 25, from the same address, and Trevor Forbes, 58 of Oxford, are accused of conspiring to supply cocaine, and possession of criminal property. Julian Eslick, 46, of Cliff Bastin Close, Exeter, has been charged with conspiring to supply cocaine and possession of class A drug heroin.
Officers conducted a drug warrant at an address in Ide on Monday. Further searches were conducted at addresses in Devon and across the UK in connection with the investigation.
