Funding hope for city flood defences

Local authorities are confident of securing a share of Government funding to make up a £6m shortfall for the city's flood defences. .


The scheme will cost around 25 million pounds.

Ministers announced a pot of £120 million pounds nationally for flood defence work at the end of last week, and the Environment Agency and Devon county council are going to bid for cash to plug the six million pound funding gap.
