Drivers who speed through Kingskerswell could soon get their come-uppance, as a new group prepares to monitor their speed.
The South Devon link road took much of the traffic away from the village 18 months ago.
But there are still some motorists who put their foot down on the road through Kingskerswell.
The local county councillor Alistair Dewhirst is campaigning for speed cameras to enforce the 50mph limit and a group of local residents have formed a Speedwatch group, who are practising using their equipment this weekend before carrying out a full monitoring exercise.
