Cancer suffer claims heroin help ease pain
An Exeter man's been jailed after getting hooked on heroin as he tried to mask the effects of chemotherapy.
Matthew Smith broke into the home of an Exmouth pensioner to take cash to pay for his drug habit
He was caught after been seen trying to get into other bungalows in Namsmith Close in the town.
Exeter Crown Court heard that cancer-sufferer Smith has 160 previous convictions. He's gone to prison for 18 months.
