The consortium behind an ambitious retail and leisure complex near Tiverton have suffered a setback - after the development was NOT included in Mid Devon council's local plan.
Councillors didn't want a development at Junction 27 to take trade away from neighbouring towns, and the city of Exeter.
However they said they'd welcome some form of leisure-led facility.
Exeter City Council and business leaders have welcomed the decision - the developers are believed to be scaling down the proposals.
