Joy as walk-in centre looks set to stay open

Campaigners against the closure of Exeter's two NHS walk-in centres have welcomed the news that they're staying open for the foreseeable future.

There'd been concerns that a review of walk-in and urgent care services would lead to the centre in Sidwell Street closing down

Now the local NHS has confirmed that national guidance on the services isn't yet finalised and once the position is clearer, there'll be a public consultation.

The local branch of Keep Our NHS Public campaigned strongly for the centre to stay open, and the group think the high level of public support has helped safeguard its future.
