Kingskerswell man bailed after manslaughter arrest

Pensioner died following beer garden assault

A pensioner has been released on bail after being questioned on suspicion of manslaughter after a man died following an assault in a South Devon pub.

A 76-year-old man from Torquay suffered serious arm and chest injuries in the incident at The Park Inn in Kingskerswell on Sunday 17 December.

He died at Torbay Hospital five days later. The pair are believed known to each other.

The arrested man, who is from Kingskerswell must surrender his bail on 22 March.

Police and appealing for witnesses to the altercation which happened in the pub's beer garden around 8.20pm.
