A knife amnesty is being held in Exeter over the next two weeks.
Special bins have been put in the police station in Heavitree Road for people to dispose of any bladed articles - no questions asked.
These can include axes, samurai swords and machetes.
Anyone caught carrying a knife could be sent to prison for up to four years.
