A new partnership between Exeter, Teignbridge and east Devon councils has been welcomed by all three of the local authority leaders.
They're going to draw up a vision for the whole area covered by the three districts, and invest jointly in projects designed to bring economic growth to them all.
The leader of Exeter city council Pete Edwards says the councils will retain their separate identities and political independence, but work together where it matters.
