Inquest adjourned
A body found during searches for a missing Exeter woman earlier this month has now been formally identified as Lorraine Cox, aged 32.
Police launched a murder enquiry several days after Ms. Cox was reported missing. Christopher Mayer, 22, of no fixed abode, Exeter, has been charged with murder and is due to appear at Exeter Crown Court on Thursday 8 October.
On Tuesday, police confirmed the body located as that of Lorraine Cox of Exeter. The inquest into the death was opened and adjourned by Exeter's coroner while the criminal process into this matter continues.
Five men, aged 43, 22, 30, 33 and 71, have all been released on police bail until Wednesday 7 October.
Ms. Cox's family has been kept informed of these updates and are being supported by liaison officers. They continue to ask for their privacy to be respected at this difficult time.
