A royal marine who got lost during a training exercise sparked a major search in the Gutter Tor area
The man had missed a checkpoint and then turned north to try and find the road, but ended up three kilometres away near Plym Ford.
40 members of Dartmoor Search and Rescue went looking for him, along with 30 military personnel and the coastguard helicopter.
He was found at 1.30am on Wednesday morning, cold but unharmed.
